Both products address the same concerns — acne, texture, pigmentation, and signs of aging. The main difference is the retinoid strength. Exfol-A contains 0.25% vitamin A, while Exfol-A Forte contains 0.5%, making it the stronger option. Because these are strong products, it’s best to build up gradually: most routines start with Derm-A-Gel, then move to Exfol-A, and eventually Exfol-A Forte. It is recommended to finish about two bottles of each step before moving to the next so the skin has time to adjust. In many cases, Exfol-A is already strong enough, and Exfol-A Forte is only needed if additional strength is required.
